EID Tag Requirements and Animal Disease Traceability

Starting in the fall USDA will require new electronic and visual tags for cattle and bison that are subject to USDA identification such as those animals moving interstate, tagged for vaccination or disease testing. This is all part of USDA APHIS animal disease traceability. Colorado State University Extension specialists Travis Taylor and Scott Stinnett discuss what this will mean to producers and dispel a few rumor associated with the new tagging requirements.
